We would like to hear your thoughts. Also, where is the AI money going? as well as the latest news, tools, and developments? Lets do this…
🤔 Will AI save the world? The question of whether AI will save the world is subjective, it really depends on who you ask. Marc Andreessen just published a great post full of gems that state why AI will save the world and makes the case that AI is the greatest invention of all time, as the technology can be used to make every single aspect of human life better. He advocates for the free reign of AI apps including open-source AI developments without any regulation and/or government restrictions. Small and big firms alike should be able to develop as aggressively as they like. The world has seen several revolutionary technologies (from the printing press to the internet) that, according to certain groups, threatened humanity, but we are still here, better than ever, and reaping the benefits of those technological advancements that have come before us. Marc Andreessen has an outstanding track record as an American entrepreneur, venture capital investor, and software engineer. He is the co-author of Mosaic, the first widely used web browser with a graphical user interface; co-founder of Netscape, and co-founder and general partner of Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. He is a businessman that is looking to capitalize on any technological boom and the free deployment of AI is a better bet for investors and venture capitalists than the careful, regulated development of the technology. He is right in stating that technology makes us more productive, which normally leads to lower prices for products and services and faster and better production, but in the process, jobs will be shuffled, some will be lost others will be created. Whoever is aware of the technological shifts and pivoting to learn and adapt will be able to adapt, others will be left behind which may lead to inequality if you don’t have the access (remote areas, no internet access) or resources to adapt to this rapid change. On the other side, we have individuals like Geoff Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, who are often referred to as the "godfathers" of AI and deep learning. These individuals played crucial roles in the resurgence of AI, particularly with the development of neural networks and deep learning algorithms that revolutionized the field. They have been working and developing AI for over two decades (way before it was trendy, lol) and are skeptical about the future of AI. Geoff Hinton resigned from a position he held at Google for over a decade last month, telling the New York Times he made the decision so he could freely discuss “the dangers of A.I.” The internet has trolls and a lot of misinformation, but most of it is created by humans, AI trolls can multiply into the millions in seconds and know you better than anyone else to steer your fears, and decisions, and to scam you. They can use voice and video to shift your thinking. Then we have deep fakes, AI weapons, autonomous systems that make decisions on malicious data they have been trained on, and the potential of AI becoming conscious, yeah it sounds crazy, but there is that possibility Prudence is the word, that is what we need, perhaps not free reign, but government officials, psychologists, and educators need to get up to par with the pros and cons of AI in order to develop the technology in a prudent way. I would love to hear/read your thoughts…

🎂 ChatGPT is turning 6Months Old.Timeline of the ChatGPT AI Revolution:
It’s mind-blowing to think that all the above advances have happened in just six months and that it's still early in the development and deployment of AI technology, and there will likely be ongoing advancements, challenges, and a growing understanding of its limitations. 📝 Where are we in terms of AI Regulation (link)The White House has announced initiatives to regulate AI, including discussions on employee surveillance and seeking public input on using AI for the greater good. The Biden administration is focused on managing the risks of AI and updating the National AI R&D Strategic Plan. The Office of Science and Technology Policy is seeking public comment on critical AI issues, such as civic engagement and cyber vulnerabilities. And The Department of Education has also released a report on the use of AI in learning, providing recommendations and addressing potential risks. This is how we feel about AI companies being regulated by the Government:
