With the AI industry facing talent shortages, there is a push for immigration policies that attract more workers. Retaining international students after graduation is seen as vital for America's AI leadership. About 65% of top AI companies were founded by immigrants, and 70% of full-time graduate students in AI fields are international students. Notable AI founders come from various countries, and Microsoft and Google are led by immigrants. Immigration programs for skilled workers have improved under President Biden. 🧰 AI Tools of the Day
💣 AI will be used by every political group and politician to harm their adversaries. In our previous article on April 25th, we highlighted the risks associated with AI generative images and deepfakes in the context of upcoming elections. These technologies are rapidly advancing, and it is anticipated that politicians from all sides will exploit them to discredit their opponents and enhance their own image. During the Aspen Ideas Festival, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt cautioned that in the 2024 election, generative AI will be used by every political group and politician to harm their adversaries. This underscores the need for heightened awareness regarding the potential dangers of such campaigns. As AI-generated content becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish from reality, it is crucial for individuals to exercise greater skepticism and discernment when encountering information through various mediums. 🤝 MosaicML + Databricks a $1.3B partnership to forever change the AI game (link)Databricks, a Data and AI company, has agreed to acquire MosaicML, a leading generative AI platform, in a deal valued at approximately $1.3 billion. The partnership aims to make generative AI accessible to organizations, allowing them to build and secure their own models using their data. By combining Databricks' Lakehouse Platform with MosaicML's technology, customers can retain control over their data and train models faster and more cost-effectively. The acquisition will bring MosaicML's team, including its research specialists, into Databricks to advance large-scale model training. The goal is to democratize AI and empower organizations to create their own AI models. The acquisition is subject to standard closing conditions and regulatory approvals. 🌐 "Exclusive Deal”Premium domains for pocket change Bargain Bun - Premium domains at unbelievable prices, exclusively available on Porkbun. (Link)OpenAI, with support from Microsoft, plans to create a personalized work assistant that could compete with Microsoft's AI copilots. The assistant, based on ChatGPT, aims to handle work-related tasks. However, data access poses a challenge as ChatGPT relies on public information, unlike Microsoft's copilots that use private workplace data. While the partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft aims to combine their strengths, the issue of proprietary data sharing may affect adoption. OpenAI is targeting the enterprise market and had likely discussed its work assistant plans before Microsoft's investment. 💪🏽 Important AI News and Trends

Happy Monday everyone! 👋 There's a whirlwind of activity happening in the world, with things moving faster than ever. Today, we'll explore how Tesla is leading the charge in AI, discover alternative options to Midjourney, delve into Google's data-driven strategy for dominating the AI race, and unveil exciting tools, prompts, and the latest news. Get ready for an action-packed update!
🚗 "Will Tesla's Ambitious AI Plans Lead to Dominance?"Tesla has announced its ambitious plans to become a major player in both the electric vehicle (EV) industry and the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The company expects to achieve a compute capacity of 100 exaflops by October 2024, which is approximately 20 times greater than the capacity disclosed during its AI Day event in September of the previous year.
Tesla aims to leverage its extensive data advantage to secure a leading position in the race toward autonomous driving. The plan is to scale its compute capacity from around 14,000 Nvidia A100 chips to approximately 300,000 A100 chips within a two-year period. While Tesla will likely continue to purchase hardware from Nvidia, it is expected to gradually transition to its own hardware, known as Dojo, which is projected to deliver 3x the performance of Nvidia's A100. However, as Nvidia's latest chip, the H100, already boasts 4-6 times greater performance than the A100, Tesla will need to rapidly iterate and advance its hardware to maintain a competitive edge in the pursuit of full autonomy in the transportation sector. 🧰 AI Tools of the Day
🔊 Google has released AudioPaLMA Large Language Model That Can Speak and ListenAudioPaLM is a multimodal language model that combines text and speech processing. It integrates the strengths of text-based and speech-based models, resulting in improved speech recognition, translation, and generation. The model outperforms existing systems in speech translation tasks and demonstrates the ability to perform zero-shot speech-to-text translation for unseen language combinations. Additionally, it can transfer voices across languages based on short spoken prompts. 📚 The Learning CornerGitHub is a web-based platform that serves as a version control repository and collaborative platform for software development projects. ❓Prompt of the Day
I want you to act as a travel guide. I will write you my location and you will suggest a place to visit near my location. In some cases, I will also give you the type of places I will visit. You will also suggest me places of a similar type that are close to my first location. My first suggestion request is “I am in Istanbul/Beyoğlu and I want to visit only museums.” 💪🏽 Important AI News and Trends
