🔴 Scientists are really concern about risks from AI (Link)AI experts, journalists, policymakers, and the public are increasingly discussing a broad spectrum of important and urgent risks from AI. Even so, it can be difficult to voice concerns about some of advanced AI’s most severe risks. The succinct statement aims to overcome this obstacle and open up discussion. It is also meant to create common knowledge of the growing number of experts and public figures who also take some of advanced AI’s most severe risks seriously. 🔑 A year ago, nobody was talking about AI.Now, it's all anyone wants to talk about — including on company earnings calls. Mentions of "generative AI" in U.S. corporate earnings calls were up 308% from the previous quarter, per market intelligence firm AlphaSense. Nvidia, one of the clear winners of this AI revolution, has been flirting with the $1 Trillion valuation mark. Nvidia is a leading company in AI technology, known for their GPUs that enable faster and more efficient training of deep learning models, resulting in better AI performance. Nvidia also provides specialized hardware and software tools that make it easier for developers to incorporate AI features into their applications. Their contributions have been significant in advancing AI across industries. 🏆 Who can compete with Nvidia?Nvidia is a dominant player in the GPU market, particularly in gaming and with the advent of AI. However, it faces competition from other companies. AMD is a formidable competitor offering a range of GPUs. Intel has also made progress in the GPU market, introducing integrated graphics solutions and partnering with AMD to provide powerful GPUs for laptops. Additionally, other companies like Qualcomm, Imagination Technologies, and Arm are entering the GPU market with their own offerings. Although they are not currently on par with Nvidia and AMD in terms of performance, they have the potential to disrupt the market in the future. ❗Why is TSMC Crucial in the AI era? (link)TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) and Nvidia have a close partnership in semiconductor manufacturing. TSMC is a primary foundry for Nvidia and many other tech companies, producing various chips, including high-quality GPUs for gaming, computers, mobile devices, and AI applications. Their collaboration has driven the advancement of GPU technology, enabling the delivery of powerful and efficient products, providing high-performance computing solutions across industries like gaming and AI. Nvidia CEO has said that “There is air and there is TSMC.” 💪🏽 Important AI News and Trends
