Hello Everyone ๐, Publishers are suing OpenAi and other AI companies for copyright infringement, what does this mean for traditional media, tech, and lawyers? we will explain. We share how AI learns from toddlers to train robots and other models. And as usual, we have whatโs trending in tech and AI as well as top AI apps and our learning resources.
๐ฐ A potential NYT lawsuit could force OpenAI to wipe ChatGPT and start over. The New York Times is considering suing OpenAI for copyright infringement for using its content to train AI models without permission. A lawsuit could force the rebuilding of ChatGPT's dataset and lead to major fines. This could be a blow to OpenAI which is on the verge of bankruptcy. However, there are several language models trained on newspaper data. So this single lawsuit may not be sustainable as AI technology proliferates. This highlights key questions as more people get news from AI. Publishers want to protect intellectual property, but rigid copyright enforcement may stifle AI innovation. Microsoft is also updating its terms of service, effective Sept. 30., to both assert its right to use data for AI training while prohibiting others from that type of use. Standards and licensing deals will likely emerge to balance fair compensation with enabling beneficial AI applications. Publishers may also find new innovative ways to work with AI and companies developing LLMs as this is only the beginning of this revolution and things are rapidly changing. ๐ฃ Metaโs AI Agents Learn to Move by Copying Toddlers.Researchers at Meta have developed MyoSuite, a physics simulator of the human musculoskeletal system, to advance AI control of realistic virtual characters. By having algorithms "experiment" with controlling a simulated hand (MyoArm) and legs (MyoLegs), the AI agents learn generalized representations and motor control strategies analogous to human muscle synergies. This allows them to better adapt manipulation and locomotion skills to new tasks and environments. The work could enable more lifelike avatars and biomechanics understanding, though fully realizing human motor skills may require expanding the simulated physiology. ๐งฐ AI Tools of the Day

This is especially relevant in public relations, where AI is streamlining tasks and generating efficiencies. Despite its benefits, AI clashes with the time-based billing system, where faster work means lower earnings. While organizations using this model might struggle to adapt, clients are likely to demand value beyond time, pushing advisers to provide substantial strategies and guidance. ๐ Toyota, Pony.ai plan to mass produce robotaxis in ChinaToyota and Pony.ai are forming a new joint venture in China to mass produce robotaxis using Pony.ai's self-driving tech and provide ride-hailing services. The companies along with Toyota's Chinese partner GAC will invest over $140 million in the venture. This represents an important evolution of Toyota's business in China through local partnerships, as it pivots towards electric and autonomous vehicles in the market. ๐ The Learning CornerQuora AI and ML Channels.
