TikTok Sued Over Harm to Teens.
TikTok is in trouble, again. Attorneys general from 14 states have sued TikTok, alleging the platform harms kids' mental health and misleads the public about its safety. The lawsuits accuse TikTok of cultivating social media addiction and using features that keep children engaged, like autoplay and beauty filters, to boost profits. The suits also argue TikTok violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and state consumer protection laws. OpenAI has partnered with Hearst to integrate content from over 40 newspapers and 20 magazines, like Esquire and Cosmopolitan, into its AI products, including ChatGPT.
