The use of Apple Vision Pro in surgery has been praised for enhancing efficiency and patient care, with a range of healthcare apps developed for the device, including surgical training and patient mental health support. This innovation parallels the use of VR headsets like Meta's Quest 2 in medical training, highlighting a growing trend of immersive technology applications in healthcare. First Fully Autonomous AI Engineer, Scary?Cognition's AI, Devin, is reshaping software development by fully managing coding projects, from writing and debugging code to deployment. With $21 million in funding from notable investors, Devin surpasses other AIs by independently solving 13.86% of software issues, significantly outperforming competitors like Claude and GPT-4. Positioned as more than just an assistant, Devin showcases advanced planning and reasoning skills, hinting at potential applications beyond programming. Cognition plans to extend Devin's capabilities to other domains, aiming for a broader impact on AI-assisted work. As of now, Devin can train and fine-tune its own AI models. Cognition even tried giving Devin real jobs on Upwork and it could do those too!  The emergence of AI autonomous software capable of independently executing jobs, such as those on Upwork, introduces the first fully independent software engineer. Google has decided to limit its AI chatbot Gemini from responding to queries about global elections happening this year, aiming to prevent misinformation and fake news amid growing concerns over generative AI technologies. This precautionary measure restricts Gemini from answering questions about significant elections, including the upcoming U.S. presidential race, advising users to rely on Google Search instead. The decision follows increased scrutiny on AI tools for potential inaccuracies and biases, with countries like India requiring tech firms to obtain government approval before releasing AI tools publicly.
